June 16 First in a Series of Anti-war Concerts Will Take Place in Germany

The association of Russian-speaking musicians "Note of Protest" issued an anti-war statement and announced a series of summer concerts

“We, the undersigned members of the informal association of Russian-speaking musicians Note of Protest, declare the following:

Today, during the war, Russian culture can either be exclusively anti-war, or not exist at all. We are well aware that now, following February 24, no one but ourselves, might need even anti-war, anti-totalitarian, protest Russian art.

Thus, without embarking on a false path of a discussion whether one could perform Tchaikovsky, while Russian rockets and bombs are destroying the peaceful cities of Ukraine, and Russian soldiers rape and kill their victims, we announce a campaign to raise funds to finance the Ukrainian army. From now on we shall measure the value of our concerts in bulletproof vests”.

The first concert of the upcoming Note of Protest series will take place June 16 in Germany. The concerts are also planned in various cities of the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark and Georgia. All profits from the concerts will go towards helping Ukraine in the war with Russia.
